hi! i'm ashly. Please keep reading if you want to hear my "fitness journey". I kept it short :)
In my freshman year of college, after many unexplainable health issues, I was diagnosed at Mayo Clinic with an autonomic nervous system disorder called Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). Along with this diagnosis I was told that my heart and lungs were SEVERELY deconditioned because of the stress placed on my body from this illness. I was informed that there is no cure but the best treatment is regularly exercising (along with medications).
At this point in my life going to the gym was a huge struggle for me because of my horrible fatigue and I treated exercise as a chore (my mom even paid me $5 sometimes to go to the gym LOL). I pushed myself to go more frequently and within a year I was addicted. I began asking my dad, who is also a trainer, for workout tips and following personal trainers on social media for more information.
After years of consistent training my family and friends started asking for workout tips and personalized plans. I decided to get my certification as a personal trainer to not only help myself become more educated but to help others with their goals.
At the end of 2020 I became a NASM certified personal trainer and now in 2021 I am launching my first workout program. I am excited to see what else is in store!
